I Believe

{This post was supposed to be posted on Sunday, when I changed my blog title, and while General Conference was still fresh on my mind. Time got away from me though, and I didn't finish it. So here it is, although probably a lot shorter than I intended it to be.}

General Conference was amazing. As always. I will be honest though (because who doesn't love honesty in blogs?) I took a couple little naps. I was distracted some of the time. I probably didn't listen as well as I should have. But, I did watch and listen, and I did learn things, and I AM going to reread all the talks when the November Ensign comes. For me, I enjoyed listening to our leaders talk about family, and how it is the most important thing. I know that of course, but I also know that sometimes I forget. I do get a little selfish and put myself first instead of Kyle. I'm working on that, and it was good to be reminded. I also enjoyed the talks about using our time wisely, and opening ourselves up to personal revelation. Why is personal scripture study such a hard habit to get into, and such an easy habit to break? I'm going to be working harder on that, as well as using my time more wisely. As you can see, I changed our blog title to "Anxiously Engaged" with the whole verse from D&C underneath. A couple of months ago K and I had FHE and we read this scripture and decided it would be a good family motto. It was a huge reminder to me that we should be anxiously engaged in serving each other and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, there it is. (Any of my wonderful designer friends want to make a print for me to hang in my house?)

Also during Conference I was reminded that I don't share my testimony that readily. Ever. I'm shy, and nervous, and it just doesn't happen, not even on my blog. So, I'm going to try to be more diligent in sharing what I know, face to face, and via the internet. I already put a link to my mormon.org profile over on my left sidebar. I just updated it so the it will take a few days to be reviewed and updated but check it out! I also worked on sharing my testimony and telling people at work about General Conference... It just so happens that those I chose where already LDS, ha! I'll keep trying :)

I guess that's it from me. I do know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church, and that we are children of God. He loves us and knows us by name. Joseph Smith was a prophet, just as Thomas S. Monson is today. The Book of Mormon is at true book. The Temple is the House of the Lord. We truly can be together forever. That's my simple little testimony.
