The Engagement!

We're engaged, yay!! Ok, so the bulk of this is copied and pasted from my personal blog, but that's ok. I only wanted to type it all up once, haha. We're so excited though! And our day is May 6th!!

Kyle came to church with me yesterday, since my church is earlier than his, and we were planning on going up to Salt Lake to visit his best friend's family and then going to his brother's house for dinner. We wanted to eat lunch before we started our small journey though. So on Saturday, we had planned to go on a picnic, but Kyle said he was "too tired" and how about we switched it to Sunday after church, and go up by the temple? I was totally ok with that. Note that it is not uncommon for us to go on picnics, or to go visit the temple grounds. So nothing was out of place there.
So, after church we made pb&j's, got some chips, and went up around the back side of the temple, where there is a sort of hill overlooking the temple. We laid out our blanket, ate our food, and then chatted for a little bit. We had brought my Eternal Marriage manual with us, so we could read a talk (also not uncommon, we try to read a talk every day). Kyle was like, how about we read this one today? Which happened to be about Love and Unity. I thought he had just picked one at random... (hahaha) so we read that. When we got to a certain point in the talk, Kyle said something to the effect of he loved me and wanted to marry me. Now, we're cheesy like that all the time, so I said the same thing back and settled down to finish the talk. At about this point, he was kind of starting to get up, and told me to stand up. I was all sorts of confused, considering we hadn't finished the talk yet. I started standing up, and asked, "why?" He said because I want to ask you to marry me! He asked me, and I said yes without even thinking. I was so in shock that it had happened! After that, he took me over to his car, where he had had his roommates Sam and Garyn come and left a dozen roses, and a card on the seat. Sam and Garyn were actually hiding up in a cul-de-sac taking pictures, so then they came down and Sam took a few more.

So, I had picked out my ring, and Kyle had the final say on my diamond and everything (such as sizing) should have been good to go, but because my ring size is so small (a size 4) the jeweler dudes decided it would just be safer to just make a new one in my size, so no diamonds fell out or anything. Something like that. So, that takes 4-6 weeks. Kyle decided he didn't want to wait that long, so I just got the diamond set in a simple solitaire setting until my ring comes in! It's still so pretty though, and the diamond is gorgeous, very sparkly, and colorless! :)

And there's the story!

How We Met!

... by Britt.

Kyle and I met last August (2008). We both lived in the Riviera and we were in the same singles ward. Ok, I guess I probably didn't technically meet him until early September, but I do remember the first time I saw him. It was my first Sunday in the ward, and Dani and I were sitting in Sunday School. Two tall, blond guys walked into the room, and sat against the wall across from us. I remember leaning over to Dani and saying something like, "Those are two cute tall guys!" Little did I know that that was Kyle and his roommate, Jay. My other roommate, Lindsay, had been in the ward for Spring/Summer semesters, and so she already knew Kyle and his roommates. That's one reason we met so fast. He was also my fhe brother, and he was also assigned to be my home teacher! What luck! :)

Anyway, so we started hanging out occasionally, like before and after fhe. Then we started hanging out more, and then more. By January, he had become one of my best friends, and one of the people that I could go to with any problem. I probably started liking Kyle in February, but I always put it off as something that would never happen.
By the end of April, I really liked him. And I wasn't sure what I should do.
Luckily for me, he felt the same way, and in June he took that initiative. It took me a couple of days to come around (silly, I know) but I told him that I wanted to try it out, and to date him.
That day was June 17, 2009.
A couple of months later, we decided we wanted to get married.
And here we are :)

Well it might be a while til anyone sees this dear because we aren't getting officially engaged til March. Just kidding Beautiful, it won't be too much longer. Patience is a virtue. Oh and I probably won't write very often either. Your good at that stuff, and lots of other stuff too, so i'll probably just let you take care of that.

Here is your random memory for the day though. Remember that time when we went golfing and you rented those cute pink clubs and you drove the golf cart around for us! That was great, and you can be my chauffuer anytime baby! Lets get your drivers license first though ;)

Welcome to our blog!

Ok, so Kyle beat me to it in "christening" our blog with the first blog post. Good for him, I didn't think he would actually ever post :)
This blog will just be about our life together, aw. Right now it's private, but once we get officially engaged I'll take if off of the private setting, and then everyone can read about our awesome life. I'll (er, we'll) post stories and things, such as the proposal, how we met, wedding prep, etc. And then after that fabulous day, you'll just get an update on what we're doing with our lives!

I'm blogging. Wow, times are a changing!

Hey. Am I doing this right? I should be sleeping so I'm all ready for my 2 year progress meeting at the MTC at 9am, but sleep is so overrated. Just like Oklahoma, Oh snap! Actually they are really good we just beat them so I guess that means we are good too huh?! Amazing game. Right up there with Miami in 1990. I remember that. I was 4 ;)

So I don't really know what to write about. I guess how great Britt and I are but everybody already knows and I hate to rub it in your faces. So yeah, tonight we went to the Blink concert. It was awesome! Travis Barkers flying drumset was one of the craziest things I have ever seen!! The company wasn't bad either, except for my "special" brother ended up having extra tickets so he sold them, but accidentally sold the ones that were next to us so he had to sit somewhere else. Too bad for him!

Labor Day weekend was fantastic. Playing at Britt's house was great. I love playing with Charity. I always wanted a little sister....I'm not excited to go to work tomorrow but thats life. At least I have a job that I love (when I'm there, but getting myself there is just as hard as any other job). Anywho tomorrow will be another great day because I get to be with Britt, and any day with her is a great day! I'm asking for a raise too. That should help pay for stuff..... ;)
