Christmas!

Kyle and I had a great Christmas! It was our first one together, and we loved every minute of it. It was a pretty crazy few days, going around to my mom's, and Nathan's, and Gpa and Gma Hanson's, and then to the Bishop family party, but it was so fun! I met more of the family, and we discussed wedding plans, and played with babies :)
Other than that, not too many exciting things are going on right now. We've both been working basically full time over the break, and spending time together.
School starts back up for us on Monday. It's Kyle's last undergrad semester! He's finishing up grad school applications, and we'll hopefully know where we're headed sometime in February or March!

Wedding Plans

Well, here we are.
On Sunday it will be exactly 5 months until we get married, yes! :) We are so excited!

Our appointment is at 10:20 am

Place: Salt Lake Temple

Reception: The Israelsen Residence in Alpine, UT

Colors: Navy blue, sage green and white

Wedding dress: Go here to see it

Kyle's already seen it, so it's not a big deal. I am absolutely in love with it! I want to wear it all the time, haha.

Photographer: Missy Eyre. She's been one of my really good friends since high school, and is a really talented photographer. Go here to see her work

http://mrussellstudios.blogspot.com/
and go here to see some of our engagements

The next things to get figured out are our decor for the reception, the food for the reception, and the flowers. And matching clothes for everyone. I'm mostly only worried about matching colors, not so much as having the exact same thing.

So there you go! A small update on the wedding plans of Britt and Kyle :)

GRE and Halloween!

Just as a quick update, Kyle took the GRE (on Halloween!) and did awesome! He was in the 90th percentile for Verbal, and 80th percentile for Quantitative! Now he's just getting a list of grad schools compliled, and he'll be applying to them shortly! Some of the schools he is looking at are Alliant International University in San Diego, University of Houston, a school in Florida (I don't remember off the top of my head) and a few others... So it will be exciting to see where we end up!
After he got out of the GRE we ate dinner, carved a pumpkin (it said Kyle heart Britt on it) and we watched Secret Window.
This has been a pretty chill week for the two of us, which is nice.
We're just trying to get more ideas together for our wedding :)

Engagements!

So, as you can see, we received our engagement photos back!
If you click on the slideshow, it will take you to the online album, where you can view them larger.
Missy Russell Eyre (mrussellstudios.blogspot.com) took our photos, and we love them! Miss has been one of my good friends since our junior year of high school, and she's just great :)

Just some thoughts

Ok, as a bit of an update... We had our engagement pictures taken by Missy. We're going to pick up the CD of edited pictures tonight, so I will put some of those up within the next day or two!
I have picked out my wedding dress, and I am in love with it! We're also picking that up tonight! I am so excited! Oh, and one more thing, I have my temple dress too! My mom had a few, and one of them is very pretty and simple, just how I like things, so that's the dress I am going to be sealed in, as well as just use for my temple dress.
Lately we've just been hanging out with our families a lot! While Kyle's mom was in town, we were able to go out to lunch with her on Saturday. The next day we went up to Nathan and Melanie's and had dinner with them, Mom Hanson, and Alan and Jess. That next Saturday we went back up and had dinner and watched the BYU game. And then the next day we were able to go to Layla and Malia's (Kyle's cousin's twins) baby blessing, which was so fun.
Yesterday we went to church with my mom to watch Charity in her primary program, which was so cute! Kyle and I made dinner for my mom and we just hung out there.
Oh, and an update on my ring... Apparently the manufacturing company will send it at the end of this week, and then it will be to Sierra-West by the beginning of next week.
Keep your fingers crossed for that!

Meeting of the Mothers

Saturday Britt and I had lunch with my mom and hers! It was great. Britt finally got to meet my Mom. She is really nice. Like me. Hmm, maybe thats why I turned out to be such a nice fellow. So that was really good. I miss having my parents around, but they like Oklahoma so that is good (Remember how BYU beat OU, I totally do!). We had a good lunch and we talked about important stuff...I think, but I don't really remember....Anywho it was fun and our mothers talked and talked and talked! We both have great Moms.

Today we are supposed to take some pictures for those things you send to people. The ones that invite them to eat chocolate eclairs and bring you gifts when you get married!! Yeah those ones. Apparently its a big deal. I'll try and look nice but lets be honest no one is going to be looking at me anyways. Duh. I know I won't be... Yeah, I think she is cute.

Hmm other than that life is busy busy busy. I'm preparing for the GRE on Halloween (Its the bye in the football schedule). Ugh. I should probably be taking a practice test for it right now. FOIL, order of operations, all that junk that I forgot a long time ago and I really don't want to remember.

So I think I shall end this post, but tomorrow we will have been engaged for a whole month!! Only like 6 1/2 more to go.

The Engagement!

We're engaged, yay!! Ok, so the bulk of this is copied and pasted from my personal blog, but that's ok. I only wanted to type it all up once, haha. We're so excited though! And our day is May 6th!!

Kyle came to church with me yesterday, since my church is earlier than his, and we were planning on going up to Salt Lake to visit his best friend's family and then going to his brother's house for dinner. We wanted to eat lunch before we started our small journey though. So on Saturday, we had planned to go on a picnic, but Kyle said he was "too tired" and how about we switched it to Sunday after church, and go up by the temple? I was totally ok with that. Note that it is not uncommon for us to go on picnics, or to go visit the temple grounds. So nothing was out of place there.
So, after church we made pb&j's, got some chips, and went up around the back side of the temple, where there is a sort of hill overlooking the temple. We laid out our blanket, ate our food, and then chatted for a little bit. We had brought my Eternal Marriage manual with us, so we could read a talk (also not uncommon, we try to read a talk every day). Kyle was like, how about we read this one today? Which happened to be about Love and Unity. I thought he had just picked one at random... (hahaha) so we read that. When we got to a certain point in the talk, Kyle said something to the effect of he loved me and wanted to marry me. Now, we're cheesy like that all the time, so I said the same thing back and settled down to finish the talk. At about this point, he was kind of starting to get up, and told me to stand up. I was all sorts of confused, considering we hadn't finished the talk yet. I started standing up, and asked, "why?" He said because I want to ask you to marry me! He asked me, and I said yes without even thinking. I was so in shock that it had happened! After that, he took me over to his car, where he had had his roommates Sam and Garyn come and left a dozen roses, and a card on the seat. Sam and Garyn were actually hiding up in a cul-de-sac taking pictures, so then they came down and Sam took a few more.

So, I had picked out my ring, and Kyle had the final say on my diamond and everything (such as sizing) should have been good to go, but because my ring size is so small (a size 4) the jeweler dudes decided it would just be safer to just make a new one in my size, so no diamonds fell out or anything. Something like that. So, that takes 4-6 weeks. Kyle decided he didn't want to wait that long, so I just got the diamond set in a simple solitaire setting until my ring comes in! It's still so pretty though, and the diamond is gorgeous, very sparkly, and colorless! :)

And there's the story!

How We Met!

... by Britt.

Kyle and I met last August (2008). We both lived in the Riviera and we were in the same singles ward. Ok, I guess I probably didn't technically meet him until early September, but I do remember the first time I saw him. It was my first Sunday in the ward, and Dani and I were sitting in Sunday School. Two tall, blond guys walked into the room, and sat against the wall across from us. I remember leaning over to Dani and saying something like, "Those are two cute tall guys!" Little did I know that that was Kyle and his roommate, Jay. My other roommate, Lindsay, had been in the ward for Spring/Summer semesters, and so she already knew Kyle and his roommates. That's one reason we met so fast. He was also my fhe brother, and he was also assigned to be my home teacher! What luck! :)

Anyway, so we started hanging out occasionally, like before and after fhe. Then we started hanging out more, and then more. By January, he had become one of my best friends, and one of the people that I could go to with any problem. I probably started liking Kyle in February, but I always put it off as something that would never happen.
By the end of April, I really liked him. And I wasn't sure what I should do.
Luckily for me, he felt the same way, and in June he took that initiative. It took me a couple of days to come around (silly, I know) but I told him that I wanted to try it out, and to date him.
That day was June 17, 2009.
A couple of months later, we decided we wanted to get married.
And here we are :)

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Well it might be a while til anyone sees this dear because we aren't getting officially engaged til March. Just kidding Beautiful, it won't be too much longer. Patience is a virtue. Oh and I probably won't write very often either. Your good at that stuff, and lots of other stuff too, so i'll probably just let you take care of that.

Here is your random memory for the day though. Remember that time when we went golfing and you rented those cute pink clubs and you drove the golf cart around for us! That was great, and you can be my chauffuer anytime baby! Lets get your drivers license first though ;)

Welcome to our blog!

Ok, so Kyle beat me to it in "christening" our blog with the first blog post. Good for him, I didn't think he would actually ever post :)
This blog will just be about our life together, aw. Right now it's private, but once we get officially engaged I'll take if off of the private setting, and then everyone can read about our awesome life. I'll (er, we'll) post stories and things, such as the proposal, how we met, wedding prep, etc. And then after that fabulous day, you'll just get an update on what we're doing with our lives!

I'm blogging. Wow, times are a changing!

Hey. Am I doing this right? I should be sleeping so I'm all ready for my 2 year progress meeting at the MTC at 9am, but sleep is so overrated. Just like Oklahoma, Oh snap! Actually they are really good we just beat them so I guess that means we are good too huh?! Amazing game. Right up there with Miami in 1990. I remember that. I was 4 ;)

So I don't really know what to write about. I guess how great Britt and I are but everybody already knows and I hate to rub it in your faces. So yeah, tonight we went to the Blink concert. It was awesome! Travis Barkers flying drumset was one of the craziest things I have ever seen!! The company wasn't bad either, except for my "special" brother ended up having extra tickets so he sold them, but accidentally sold the ones that were next to us so he had to sit somewhere else. Too bad for him!

Labor Day weekend was fantastic. Playing at Britt's house was great. I love playing with Charity. I always wanted a little sister....I'm not excited to go to work tomorrow but thats life. At least I have a job that I love (when I'm there, but getting myself there is just as hard as any other job). Anywho tomorrow will be another great day because I get to be with Britt, and any day with her is a great day! I'm asking for a raise too. That should help pay for stuff..... ;)
