A Quick Note

to say I'm glad that Halloween is over, and that it's now November.
to say, "holy cow, it's November already?!"
to say I'm excited to go down to Utah this weekend, to see our good friends Tyler and Alishia get married, and to see our family as well.
to say I love books and reading.
to say I love autumn smells.
to say I love my husband.
to say I'm kind of tired and have a long 5 hours ahead of me still. (Tuesdays are my latest and most exhausting days.)
to say I have been taking the time to notice tender mercies more lately.
to say .... well, happy fall!

Our lovely pumpkin.

Us and the pumpkin - K did most of the work, I supervised eating of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies :)

My Hair

Let me tell you a story... A story about the many hair lengths of Britt.
This story will be lengthy (har, har) and involve a lot of pictures.
Get ready.

Upon graduation from high school (May 2007) it was this lovely length.

And it stayed long into October of 2007 (aka Freshman year)

But then, in November 2007, it was chopped.

And then it grew out.

And then it was chopped again. (In October-ish 2008.)

And it grew out a little more. (This picture, March 2009.)

And then it grew out, and was long for our engagements (October 2009).

And for our wedding (May 2010). (Ok, technically this is a bridal taken in April '10.)

And then I cut it in June 2010.

And since then it's been growing again.
(evidenced in a February 2011 photo, and a June 2011 photo.)

And now it's really long. And I like it? Mostly.
But I kind of want a change. (Hence why I dyed the bottom part of my hair black-ish in June.)
But do I really want to cut my hair? If I do cut it - I'll go short.
Go big or go home, I say.

Thoughts, opinions? I probably wouldn't cut it until January anyway... I just want thoughts.
I think I look good (better?) with long hair. And medium length.
Ok, and I look ok with short hair. I think.

I would do something like this:

Or maybe this: (but a little bit shorter)

Like maybe this?
(Sorry, I stole your picture, Alishia! But I love your hair!)
(And don't worry readers, I know them both!)

Any thoughts on the matter?
Don't hold back. You can tell me I look terrible in one hairstyle or the other, if you want.

Lookalike

K and I went and did a session at the IF Temple on Thursday night. While there, I had a woman tell me that I was a Selena Gomez lookalike, that her daughter loves Selena Gomez, and had I gotten that before? and was I as young as Selena Gomez? and it was just so great.

I laughed. After I told Kyle he said I should have asked her if she wanted a picture with me.

What do you think? Do I look like her? Or do you think I look more like another celebrity?

Another Weekend

I live for the weekends.

I can spend time with Kyle, catch up on cleaning the house and my to-do list, read, and sleep-in, among other things. I don't think about work. It's lovely.

Last night I met up with Kyle at his department's Halloween party. I met some people in his cohort, along with their significant others and children. Kyle helped the kids decorate cookies while I was the resident face painter. We had a great time. After it was over, we came home and watched X Men: First Class, which I thoroughly enjoyed (and maybe I even cried in it...).

I received a package from my dad yesterday, which was awesome. He knows me so well. A cardigan, some Burts Bees chapstick, a bookmark, and a framed poem about marriage written by my great (x2, I think) grandpa, Joel Hills Johnson. My dad's the greatest, thanks Dad!

Currently K and I are watching the BYU/ISU game. Funny, isn't it, that BYU is playing ISU for the first time in years, and K is attending ISU? Don't worry, we're still rooting for BYU! :) Go Cougars!

A Fire Still Burning

I don't love The Killers, but I do love this "I'm a Mormon" video by Brandon Flowers.
