Abe at 4 Months

Height: 24.5 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 12 pounds, 7 ounces (20th percentile)
Head Circumference: (75th percentile)

Abe is turning out to be tall and skinny, like his daddy :)

He is our little angel baby, seriously.
He sleeps from 9:30/10 pm to about 8/9 am.
On the nights he does get up, it's only once and it's around 3/4 am.
He usually only cries when he's hungry or tired (or in pain - those blasted shots!) - and momma has his cries figured out :)

Nicknames include: bubs, bubba, little love, little lovey, fuzzball, Abey, Abey-baby, Abesy, little man, and our baby genius.

He usually takes 3-4 30-60 minutes naps a day and one 2-4 hour nap as well.
He's just started to roll over from front to back and back to front, but only a couple of times a day.
He loves to be laid down on the floor and will kick and scoot and half-roll all around.
He takes a binky when falling asleep.
He has the best smiles in the world, and the cutest giggles and laughs, although he makes us work pretty hard for those.
He can be a chatter box when he wants to!
He's starting to get the grabbing thing down and can hold on to items for a while (which means he is learning to grab my hair...) :)
He loves when we hold him up to stand.

Dr. Weeda gave him the ok to start solids whenever we feel ready. I think he'll be ready closer to 6 months. He's such a little guy, still!

He brings so much joy into our lives and we just think he is the best.

A Little Catchin' Up

I've been pretty scarce around these parts lately. I started a new blog, and I've been focusing on getting that one up and running. You can check it out here {My Little Sunshines} and I'd love if you followed it! I'm not sure what creating that new blog means for this one. If I want it to take over, or if I want to keep them separate and perhaps make this one private. I'm not sure yet. But I'll let you know if I do anything drastic! :)

We had a GREAT vacation down in Utah. We got to spend time with our family and friends, Kyle gave a wonderful blessing to Abe, we got family pictures taken, and we ate a lot of good food :)

I'm not sure if I mentioned it - but we were released from Primary and I am now the Mia Maids advisor! It is a lot of fun. I'm really glad to be back in Young Womens! Kyle and I have been enjoying the summer - going on drives and to the park.

Abe is doing so great. We are so glad we have him in our family now. He just brings us the most joy. I can't get enough of his cute, snuggly self!! He is about 3 1/2 months old now, and progressing and growing all the time. He just learned how to giggle and it is the cutest thing I have ever seen. We sure love our little bubs.

Life is great over here at the Hanson's home.
We are so blessed and really have nothing to complain about.

Abe's Nursery

I finally got around to taking some pictures of Abe's nursery today!
It was pretty overcast, so the pictures are a little gloomy, and there are a few more things we'd like to add to the walls and such, but it's pretty much done!

The view from the door.

June

Somehow it's June, and I have no idea how we got here.

It is full-blown summer here in the inland Northwest. A couple of days ago we had a thunderstorm to prove it. And most days have been consistently in 70's. The sun rises at 5 am, and doesn't set until 9 pm. The birds are singing as early as 4:30 am.
And I love it.

Kyle and I have always been pretty adventurous in the summertime. Maybe him more so than me, but since being married I've come to appreciate a good camping trip. This year we're throwing a little buddy in the mix and have been contemplating taking him out.
We'll see how he does when the time comes.

We are loving our life right now.
And we are so excited to head to Utah in two weeks, to see all our family, and bless our sweet boy.

We will see you all soon!

2 Months

(On May 26th - and I keep forgetting to take a picture!!)

Weight: 8 pounds, 1 ounce (5th percentile)
Height: 21.5 inches (25th percentile)
Head Circumference: 38.5 centimeters (45th percentile)

He's a just a little guy, but we love him!
He is doing really well. He's obviously a little on the small side. Dr. Weeda isn't too concerned, but we're headed back in one month to do a weight check, just to make sure he is still gaining well.

At 2 months Abe:
+ is starting to smile. just barely though. we can't wait until he is doing it more consistently!
+ is also starting to coo and make little talking noises. it's the cutest.
+ goes to bed around 11 pm, wakes up to eat between 2-3, and then wakes up again around 7. usually. that's a very loose schedule. but whatever the times end up being - he still only wakes up one time a month.
+ takes a bottle like a champ.
+ has started to like the pacifier.

2 months old - where does the time go??
I always thought it was so cliche when parents said that the time flies by.
And then I became a parent, and I am pretty sure that the last two months were actually like 2 weeks. The days can feel long sometimes, but the weeks fly by.
