Valentine's Day + Update

K and I had a wonderful low-key Valentine's.
K brought home pizza and crazy bread.
I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
We exchanged gifts.

I got him his favorite things - chocolate milk, a set of 3 James Bond DVD's, and Reese's cups.
He got me a card and some chocolate.... Except then I opened the card and inside were tickets to Wicked (!!!!) when it comes to Spokane in May.
(May's not too soon to leave our babe with a sitter for a while.... Right???)
Kyle's a sneaky mcsneakerson when it comes to gifts. He's always getting me something I didn't know I was getting that I love/have been wanting.
Whataguy.

Saturday we just relaxed around the house, and went to the adult session of Stake Conference that evening.
Sunday was the general session of Stake Conference (our ward choir, which I'm in, sang in it, so we had to be there a little early). 2 hours is always long.... But great messages were shared.
Monday was President's Day, which Kyle had off, hooray! So we just did more relaxing and spending time together. Gotta get that in before we have this little boy here.

Also! Kyle got the position at work that he interviewed for! He is so excited! I'll try to make him write a blog post all about it so you know what he's going to be doing and while he'll like it better.
He gets to go to a week-long training.
It will be in the middle of March, in Boston.
(We thought it was going to be in Alaska, which he was so excited for, but that training is actually the first week of April.... A little too close to my due date for comfort.)
I'm proud of my guy, and all the hard work he does!

32 Weeks

Here's my lovely 32 week selfie.
(I feel huge.)
I actually got ready for the day yesterday (primer! foundation! eyeshadow! a braid!) and thought I needed to document.

Today I had my 32 week appointment, and everything is still looking good.
Weighed in at 158, baby's heartbeat sounded great, no troubling symptoms to speak of.
My OB said, it's basically just a waiting and growing game now.

Hooray!
We are under 8 weeks to go, which is crazy and exciting.
I feel pretty huge, and am still having trouble sleeping some nights due to hip, rib and back pain (and just insomnia in general - I can be so tired yet still not fall asleep).
But, I've said it before, I've had a fairly easy pregnancy, so I'm grateful.

This week in our birth class we talked about induction, other interventions during childbirth, and pain management options. It was pretty informative. Next week is our birthing center tour, which I'm excited about :) I'm excited to give birth at KMC, because they really seem to be what I wanted out of a hospital (skin to skin contact immediately, really focus on baby/parent bonding, etc), so I'm happy about that.

(PS, my wedding ring is officially off. My finger feels naked.)

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to this lovely guy.

He makes me laugh multiple times a day, and I love him for it (and a lot of other reasons, too).

Thanks for choosing me, babe, and making me the happiest I've ever been.

30 Weeks

I can't believe that I am 30 weeks along!
3/4 of the way done, less than 10 weeks to go.

I thought I'd do another "official" survey thing, like I did at 20 weeks, just for funsies.

How far along: 30 weeks!

How big is baby: Baby Center says baby is about 17 inches long, and weighs in around 3 pounds. Don't worry, baby will only grow a few more inches, but will at least DOUBLE his weight. At least. Where is that all going to go??

What have you been up to: Just planning and organizing. Making a lot of lists :)

Maternity clothes: Yes, yes, yes! I love them.

Weight gain/lose: Today at the doctors I weighed in at 154. So I'm up around 10 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight.

Wedding ring on/off: On still, but probably will need to come off soon.

Stretch marks: None yet, but I have a lot of stretching to do in the last 9-10 weeks :)

Belly Button: It is still barely in, but mostly flat.

Sleep: Back and forth, like it's been this whole pregnancy. Some nights I sleep fairly well, and other nights I am wide awake for hours on end. It just depends.

Newest baby milestones this week: Baby is just getting bigger and bigger! And so is mom (aka, ME).

Food cravings: None really. Although I have been loving yogurt lately. And I still will guzzle orange juice if given the opportunity.

Food aversions: None really.

Symptoms: Congestion, as always. Horrific rib pain is back. Hip and back aches.

Movement: Movement has changed a little bit, and is a lot of rolling and stretching and pushing, with occasional hard jabs sometimes. And I've also started feeling him have the hiccups within the last week or so, which is a lot of fun. Oh, and I also felt him kick (or punch?) my cervix the other night. That was.... uncomfortable.

Gender: BOY!

What I’m looking forward to: Having this sweet boy in my eyes. THREE of my friends had their babies on Wednesday, so my newsfeed on Insta and FB has been flooded with newborn baby pictures. Is it my turn yet? :)

What I’m nervous about/praying for: Oh, I'm just always nervous about baby's movements and if they're "normal". Just hoping everything continues to go smoothly until this little guy arrives.

What I miss: Sleeping on my back, and moving around more easily.

Next appointment: February 20th - I'm going in every two weeks now.

Other: Like I mentioned earlier, I failed my 1 hour glucose test, I went in and had my three hour one last week, and passed! At my appointment yesterday I got the Tdap shot. Whooping cough is apparently making a comeback, so they recommend women get it while pregnant to transfer some immunity to baby and so the momma's don't get it. I'm pro-vaccine, so I said sure! We started birth classes this week which was pretty fun and informative. They're every Tuesday night in February for 2.5 hours. It's kind of nice being around a bunch of women who are all pregnant with their first baby's who are due around the same time as me. It makes me feel validated as we talk about our symptoms, haha. I think Kyle might even like it a little bit :)

I still am kind of in awe sometimes that I am pregnant. It's exciting and crazy and a whirlwind of emotions sometimes. Sometimes, right when i wake up, I forget I'm pregnant, but then I feel a little kick and remember I'm growing a human inside of me. What a crazy, wondrous thing that is.

Just a Lil' Update

I thought it was probably time to do a little update on our life, outside of baby :)

Kyle is enjoying his job, and is building his case load which means he is keeping busier at work. He is going to interview for a slightly different job this week (still in the same department), so we'll see how that goes. It's just different enough that he thinks he will enjoy it a bit more, but if he doesn't get it, it won't be too big of a deal.

He was also just called to be the second counselor in the Sunday School presidency in our ward, so that will be good for him. The president and first counselor are both really nice guys, and we'll look forward to getting to know them a little better.
We're also still called to be the CTR 5 primary teachers, so we'll have to see what happens there. Luckily during the Sunday School hour is when we have sharing and singing time, so if Kyle can still join me third hour for class time, I should be ok. We've got quite a rowdy bunch of little boys this year, and while they're cute and fun, I don't think this pregnant lady could handle it by herself. So maybe they'll release us sooner rather than later.
But who knows?! We sure have a blast teaching those kiddos each week, though.

I'm just at home, getting things ready for baby - we all know I'm a planner so I am constantly making lists of things we need, or need to do.
I'll probably talk about this in my next weekly post, but we started our birth class this week, and we enjoyed it! (Maybe I did a little more than Kyle.....) :) We still have three more classes to go, and I'm sure we'll learn a lot more.

We're still enjoying life up here in northern Idaho, and we're getting excited for spring (for multiple reasons! - but mostly because our babe is coming) (but also because it will be lighter out longer, and be warmer!).
