Life as We Know It
Finally, blogging! I feel like I have a lot to blog about. That may not be competely true, but I feel that way when I don't blog for awhile.
Last week was a fun, though busy, week. Mal came over for dinner on Tuesday night, and it was so fun to catch up with her. She's moving to Virginia next week, and we'll miss her!
Thursday night Kyle and I took dinner over to Roger and Shauna's, and we had a fun time eating and chatting. Their little Corbyn is so much fun, and so cute. I love those little babies :)
Glee returned for the second season! SO good. I love Glee. I can't wait for the Britney Spears episode to air tomorrow.
Friday night Kyle and I went up and ate dinner with Alan and Jess, and then we all went to the Brad Paisley concert! So fun! I love Brad Paisley, and even Kyle likes him :) The concert was amazing, and he sang all the songs I wanted him to. Kyle sang along with them too, and it was just a good time.
Saturday I had the opportunity to go up to Salt Lake with some of my girl friends in the ward to go to the Relief Society broadcast in the Conference Center. The five of us drove up together, and had a fun time just chatting. The broadcast was very good, and President Monson was so funny the whole time. We drove back down and grabbed some food, and chatted a bit more. Such a fun girls night.
Sunday we went to church, where the lessons were great, as usual. Afterwards we drove up to Nathan and Melanie's, talked with them (and Evan, Kyle's dad, who is in town!), played with the kids, and ate a delicious steak and potato dinner, yum! If Mel doesn't have her baby by tomorrow, she's being induced! I'm so excited for a new little niece!
(I had pictures to go along with this, but blogger is being lame... Maybe tomorrow.)

In which,
I'd like to discuss Glee, and perhaps Mockingjay.
And tell you about what a fun time we had over at Roger and Shauna's last night.
And remind you that I'm going to Brad Paisley tonight, and discuss my classes with you.
And talk about how good looking my husband is.
And tell you how I'm excited for my father-in-law to come into town.
And tell you how I'm also excited for my sister-in-law to have her baby.
And write a post similar to Kellie's, about what I would take with me if my house was being evacuated.
And talk about plans, and goals, and life, and friends.
But, I'm not going to.
Because I feel sick, and am not at work.
And I'm hungry.
So... I'm going to go eat, and take some pills, and then crawl back into bed and sleep it off. So I can get up, and get ready for the day, and do the dishes, and then go to BRAD PAISLEY.

Weekend
Aside from doing homework, we had a pretty great weekend!
Friday night, we had over some friends for a little party. We ordered pizza, and Tyler, Sam, Ginger and Sarah came over. We ate, chatted, and then watched John Tucker Must Die. Oh, I love that movie! So funny.
Saturday, Kyle and I just stayed home and were lazy all day. The BYU game was only played on ESPNU, which noone gets, and we didn't want to go to the Wilk, so we just listened to it on the radio. We also watched Meet The Parents. I didn't think I had seen it before... Turns out I had, and I wasn't the biggest fan. But that's ok. We thought about going to the State Fair, but turns out it was like $9 a ticket just to get in. No, thank you. Ryan and Lindsay also brought over a CD of pictures from our Labor Day adventures, so I'll post some of those a little later today.
Yesterday, Kyle had to work from 7am-3pm. So I went to church, and learned good things to share with him (all about unity in marriage and faith in God). And then I took a nap, and my visiting teachers came by, and then Kyle came home and we went over to my mom's for dinner! Yum! And played with the baby sister and chatted, and it was lovely.
This week? Dinner with Mallory (before she leaves to Virginia!), dinner with Shauna and Roger, the Brad Paisley concert on Friday, going to the Conference Center for the Relief Society broadcast on Saturday, dad-in-law coming into town, and perhaps a new baby niece! :) Sounds great to me!
PS - i'm learning why health care and insurance really really suck.

Days 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24
Day 20 - A Song That I Listen to When I'm Angry
I'm not an angry person... I don't get angry very often. I have no song for this.
Day 21 - A Song That I Listen to When I'm Happy
Almost all music makes me happy! But let's see.... I'll go with pretty much any Glee song, haha.
Day 22 - A Song That I Listen to When I'm Sad
Oh, I have whole playlists dedicated to sad songs, from back in the day.
Almost Lover - A Fine Frenzy, is a sad, sad song.
Day 23 - A Song That I Want to Play at My Wedding
Well, I had a lot of songs that I wanted to be played at my wedding. And most of them were.
Here are just a few favorites...
My Best Friend - Tim McGraw
Lovely Tonight - Joshua Radin
1, 2, 3, 4 - Plain White T's
I Can't Move - Kalai
Then - Brad Paisley
Inside Your Heaven - Carrie Underwood
Day 24 - A Song That I Want to Play at My Funeral
This is something I haven't really ever thought about... But I would want "Our Savior's Love" played.

Kyle's new "do"
And by "do" I mean facial hair.
He was getting a bit hairy, so he goes in to shave, and comes out with a nice little goatee going on.
He's cute.
The Good Life
Yesterday, I got out of class at 4:15. Kyle was doing something for work, so I started walking home. As I was walking, I thought, I'm going right by the Riv, maybe Nadia (my old roommate) is home! So I texted her. Ended up, she was just a minute behind me, also walking home. So we walked together, and chatted. I just love her. I went up to good ol' apartment 12. Kyle came, and visited too, and then we went home.
While I was at Nadia's, my good friend Whitney had texted me, and asked if I wanted to go to dinner that night. Of course! So I left my poor husband to fend for himself, and went with Whit to Zupa's and then back to her place for some wedding planning. (She's getting married December 18th!)
I came home, Kyle and I signed up for Netflix, and we ended up watching Sleepless in Seattle. I hadn't seen it before... And it was pretty cute! I do struggle with movies where the main characters don't end up meeting until the last scene though.... Too much anxiety for me, or something, haha.
This weekend, I'm doing homework, but Kyle doesn't have to work until Sunday! So we'll be watching the game (if we can find somewhere to watch it... we might have to suck it up and go to the Wilk) and maybe going on a date, and hanging out with Sarah and Ginger, and going to church, and going to my moms for dinner on Sunday.
Sounds like the good life to me.

Goal..... Updated
Well, it wasn't a goal fail, but it was completely goal completed either.
We cleaned.
We washed Lola and vacummed her out.
I bought a new wallet at Target ($7 on sale! woohoo!)
We bought a letter organizer type thing to hold our important mail, etc. that usually clutters up our kitchen table.
We folded laundry.
Kyle cut his hair. (Yes, he cuts his hair.... He does a great job. I do a terrible one when I try.)
Now we just need to finish the dishes, and clean the bathroom.
And do homework. Lots and lots of homework.
It's only the third week of school, but I have been swamped this week.
So weird.

Goal
To clean my house today.
And take pictures to finally post on this here blog.
And to go with Kyle to clean Lola (our car, in case you didn't know) inside and out.
Ready, set, go.

1 Year
1 year ago today, on a hill overlooking the Provo Temple, Kyle Scott Hanson got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him.
I said yes, of course.
Now, one year later, we have been married for 4 months and 1 week.
And I couldn't be happier with the way my life has turned out.

9/11
I was in seventh grade. I remember seeing the early coverage on the TV at my friend Hannah's house before we left for school. In first period, which was PE, we turned on the TV and watched. I wasn't really aware of what it meant. I thought it was something on a smaller level, compared it to the Oklahoma City bombing of '95.
But I did watch those planes fly into the Twin Towers. Over, and over, and over again.
I watched and listened more, and finally understood how serious it was.
I drew a picture in my diary, which involved a lot of pen spirals.
Now? Now, I hardly think about it. I should. I should be better at remembering.
ALL of America should be better at remembering.
Not remembering who it was, why it was - but remembering those that died for freedom.
Remember those that still die for freedom.
I will never forget.

Labor Day
All right, let's get this started.
Our Labor Day was amazing. Best one in a long time! Kyle and I couldn't even remember what we did (although, reading back on my old blog.... it was the BYU vs Oklahoma game [epic!] that Saturday, and Labor Day was the Blink 182 concert, which was awesome!)
Anyway... I've already blogged about Saturday, which was the first home football game. Then on Sunday, we slept in (missed our new early morning church schedule), got dressed, and drove down to Price and visted Grandma Hanson. She's so great. Then we drove up to Scofield, to Dennis and Sandra's (Kyle's uncle and aunt) cabin, and met up with Ryan and Lindsay (Kyle's cousin and his wife), their two kids, Ellie and Bracken, and Lindsay's parents, sister, brother-in-law and nephew. A little while after we got there, Alan and Jess showed up, and we all ate dinner - delicious bbq ribs, funeral potatoes, and corn on the cob.
We had a little bonfire, Lindsay's family left, the kids were put to bed, and the six adults played an awesome game of electronic LIFE, which Kyle and I won :) Then it was bedtime.
We woke up, ate breakfast, watched Cars with the kids, and then it was off on a four-wheeling adventure! Ryan, Lindsay and Bracken were on one four-wheeler, Alan and Jess on another one, and Kyle, Ellie and I on the last one. It was a lot of fun! Ellie's so darling, and we had a lot of fun on her four-wheeler... She likes to sing to herself. So cute. After we got back from four-wheeling, we ate lunch, changed in our swimsuits, and went boating!
I went tubing for the first time ever, and it was fun! The water was SUPER cold though, holy cow! So I only went on a very short tube ride. It was fun, though, I did enjoy it! I probably would have liked it more if the water wasn't so cold.... Our camera died, so we took lots of pictures with Ryan and Lindsay's camera. When I get those I'll post them.
So that was our Labor Day, not bad at all.
Ryan and Lindsay are at Lake Powell this weekend, and invited us to go with. Sadly, we have school, and work... So we couldn't. Alan and Jess got to go though, so that should be fun!
Other news... My sister-in-law's baby should be here in the next week or two! Kyle and I are excited for a new baby niece!

Sneak Peak of our Labor Day
All I can say is that our Labor Day weekend was fantastic!
I don't have much time, so I'll post all about it later.
For now, here's a picture from the weekend.
Kyle, Ellie (Kyle's cousin's daughter), and I after our four-wheeling trip.
Ellie was such a good little companion.
(and maybe I got her addicted to Mountain Dew)

BYU FOOTBALL
I've always loved football.
(Maybe love is a strong word choice, but I like it)
I went to almost all home and away games in high school. I've always been part of the student fan club (Lehi STU, Bruin Crazies, and now, Cougar United). I especially love night games, playing under the lights.
Anyway, this is all besides the point.
Yesterday was the home opener of the 2010 BYU Football Season.
WE WON.
Against Washington.
And had a good time.
From the totally wasted Washington fan (who looked hardly old enough to drive) who stood right by us (who Kyle yelled at a couple of times, and then to make up for it he (fan) tried to keep talking to Kyle nicely), to the hot hot hot sun, to the being with friends, it was a good time. Our seats are with Sarah, Ginger, Tyler, Sam and other people from that ward.
(Well, we only bought one All-Sports Pass since they're ridiculously expensive, and that way Kyle and I can switch off since he has to work some Saturdays anyway.) - But we got Kyle a ticket yesterday, so we could go together!
And then, after the game, Bud and Cami came over, and we ate brownies and chatted until the traffic cleared. Good times :)

Birthday
I realized I never really posted about my birthday.
Obviously, we were in Yellowstone/Grand Tetons National Park for my birthday. And I've posted about that. And we had a good time.
I got a few awesome presents, though, and would like to share them.
First of all, my wonderful in-laws got me tickets to go see Brad Paisley at the end of this month, yay! This was totally a surprise and I'm so excited. Kyle and I love Brad Paisley! Alan and Jess are also going to come with us, so that will be fun!
I picked out a cute pair of sandals for work and school, and got those from Kyle.
I love them and they are super comfy.
And we also picked out this cute pillow while we were at Yellowstone! It's home is on our couch.
My mom is also getting me a new pair of scriptures with my new last name on it! I'm also excited for those :)

Days 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19
Day 15 - A Song That Describes Me
I'm going to be sort of vain... And say "She's Everything" by Brad Paisley. Kyle sings this song to me, and it's his ringtone for me... And I love it.
Day 16 - A Song That You Used to Love and Now Hate
Hmm, this is sort of hard. I'm trying to force my brain to recall songs from back in the day.
Maybe I"ll have to come back to this one.
Day 17 - A Song That You Hear Often on the Radio
One of my current loves... "Just a Dream" by Nelly.
Day 18 - A Song That You Wish You Heard on the Radio
Any old Dashboard songs... They hardly ever play Dashboard. It's sad.
Day 19 -A Song From Your Favorite Album
Hmm, favorite album? One of my favorite albums ever is Missy Higgins "The Sound of White". Oh, how I love Missy Higgins. If I could, I would add a link to every one of her songs. Seriously. Look her up. And fall in love.
Here's a video of her singing the title track, live.

I love FALL
I love school supplies.
I love getting ready to start school.
I love back-to-school shopping [clothes, not textboks].
I love the crisp air.
I love the wearing of cardigans, boots, and flowy scarves.
I love the fall colors.
I love the smell.
I love making new friends, and seeing old ones.
I love figuring out my new schedule, when to work, school, play, read, etc.
I love the anticipation of Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
