Happy Birthday, Kyle!

It's this wonderful man's 25th birthday today!
It's crazy to think that this is the 3rd birthday of his that we've celebrated together.
Last year we went to a Jazz game.
and I'm not exactly sure what we did the year before, but I'm sure it involved hanging out and eating, haha.
{update: Kyle remembered what we did - we had a pizza party and watched  Jazz game at his apartment. and of course played some Rockband.}

This year, we hung out together at home, and ate lunch together.
Tomorrow we'll go out to dinner at Los Hermanos and then check out the new Provo Beach Resort.
I gave Kyle his presents today....
He got a movie, a new wallet, a framed picture of us, some Peeps, chapstick, and gum.
He also got some new brown dress shoes, and a new belt!

Kyle is my absolute best friend, and I'm so lucky and blessed to have him in my life.
He makes every day brighter :)

3/26/11

I apologize for not updating more often. It's kind of weird of me, isn't it? I've been busy doing schoolwork, and working, and spending time with Kyle. Kyle's been busy working, and also searching for a seasonal job for the summer. We've also started to watch all episodes of Arrested Development. Pretty hilarious, for sure. We've also been doing really well with working out, go us! We're going to get in shape!

Recently, my friend Adrianne posted pictures of her high school self, as a visual of her goal appearance/weight. (Me and the MG's are doing a "Biggest Loser" of sorts. Basically just motivating each other to eat more healthy, and work out more regularly!) Anyway, she wanted me to post some, as it's fun to see what we looked like before we met! So, here are some fun pictures of me from high school. Hard to believe that I've been graduated for almost four years!

This was actually Freshman year of college, but you know, same diff.
Homecoming Senior year, shows my love of A1 sauce :)
Senior year of high school.
Senior year Prom.
Me, Whitney, and Meg at Disneyland during our Dance Co trip, March 2007.
I was an escort for Mr. Mountain View, January 2007, and got to wear this awesome dress!
My senior picture for Dance Co.
Me and Ayisha, this was actually freshman year of college, too.

February Photoshoot

A few weekends ago Kyle and I went and got some photo's taken by Lissa at lissaclairphotography.com
I read Lissa's blog, and when she mentioned that she was wanting to build her portfolio and would be doing sessions for free, I jumped at the chance!

The Saturday we met with her it was snowing like crazy!
But that didn't deter us from taking some great pictures.
Here are a few of my favorites!

Our Newest News

Kyle got into graduate school!

He got into the Master of Counseling program at Idaho State University.
So, in August we'll be moving up to Pocatello!
We're really excited about knowing what our next step in life is.
It's a two year program, so we'll be there at least that long.

I'm hoping for a two bedroom apartment, with a washer and a dryer.
I'm also hoping that I can find an awesome job with benefits!
Even if the position isn't directly in my field of study, as long as I enjoy it, that'll be great.

Best Weekend

This weekend has been full of fun!
(And not as so much of homework....)

Friday night I hung out with Janae and Ayisha, which was oh-so-fun.
Yesterday I helped Adrianne throw a baby shower for Bonnie and baby Apollo.
It was so fun to catch up with my girls, eat food, and decorate little onesies.
Adrianne, Bonnie, Me

and then last night I got to hang out with Kyle, and Roger and Shauna came over with Corbyn, and we played the game Lost Cities, which was a lot of fun.

And today we get to go up to Nathan and Melanie's to celebrate Kyle's, Mel's and Liam's birthdays!
Friends and family are the best.
Not to mention this awesome weather we've been having.

Catch Up

I haven't been the best at blogging in the last little while.
There are a few reasons why that is.. I'm busy, and when I'm not busy, I'm trying to spend time with my husband before he gets busy (aka goes to work). I also think of great ideas to post about, and then forget them. I feel like my blog is kind of boring. I have so many thoughts on my mind that when I sit down to type them out they don't come out like I want, or get overwhelmed by all the other thoughts.

So today, I'll give you a quick update of our lives, as well as a few thoughts that have been swirling around in my head lately.

I'm just chugging along with school. Only 6 weeks left! Work's been crazy on some days, and pretty chill on other's. I really am so grateful to have such a good job. I'll miss it when I leave, I think.

Kyle's just working still. He had an interview up at Idaho State today, and we'll hear back around the first or second week of April! So everyone cross your fingers for us, slash say a prayer :)

Last week was a good one. I was able to hang out with two of my favorite ladies, Dani and Emily. Dani came over for dinner on Thursday, and then on Sunday with her little sister Gabi. And Em and I were able to go out to dinner on Friday and catch up, which was great. Dani and Em are the best friends ever, and I'm so grateful for their friendship. Dani for going on 14 years, and Em for going on 4. Love you, girls.

I've been thinking lately about my feelings regarding the Church. Just the fact that I have been taking it for granted lately. It's an entity in my life that I regard as always going to be there, and I don't need to put much work into it. Obviously, that is not how it works. I'm in a New Testament class and a Church History class right now, and we've been learning about how we need to prove ourselves to be with our families in the next life, as well as about the struggles of the early Saints in the Kirtland time period. I also read an article in the Ensign for this month that dealt with converts, and the struggles they go through. .... The moral of all of this is that I have been needing to put more work into my testimony, etc. The thought that I had was that we (I) need to live with the same conviction as those early Saints, or as the Saints in third world countries, or converts in any country. There is such power behind those who experience so much hardship yet hold so firm to their covenants and their convictions and their faith and their testimony. I need to be more like them, those role  models that I have recently encountered.
Sorry if that's random, or a weird topic for my blog, but I just wanted to get it out :)

I think that's about it for now. I've got laundry to put away, and homework to do. But here's an awesome picture from our trip to Yellowstone last August, because awesome pictures are the best.

What I Believe

I believe God is our Heavenly Father and He loves us. I believe He knows us better than we know ourselves. I believe in His son Jesus Christ. I believe He is our Savior and has felt each of our pains, sins, and weaknesses. I believe He did and will do anything for us if we are willing to follow Him. I believe that by following Jesus Christ we can return to live with our Heavenly Father with our families forever. I believe the Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead and inspires all men everywhere to be better and do good.

I believe The Book of Mormon is true. I believe Nephi, Alma, Helaman, Mormon and Moroni were real people. I believe they really did see our day and wrote the truth.

I believe Joseph Smith saw God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. I believe Joseph Smith restored Jesus Christ's church and I believe Thomas S. Monson is a prophet today.

I believe that none of us are perfect but all of us can be.

My Favorite Things

This type of blog post has been going around, and I thought I would do one as well!
This might be hard!

First and foremost, I cannot live without my Burt's Bees chapstick.
I have to have one on my person 24/7.
Best chapstick, ever!

My Camelbak water bottle.
Thanks to Leanna and her favorite things list, I'm hooked!

Cardigans.

Oh my heavens.
Favorite articles of clothing, ever.
Pair them with jeans, and it's my every day outfit.
I don't feel more myself when I'm in a cardigan and jeans.

Aeropostale Camisoles.
Fantastic in every color.
They're long enough to tuck in, and are perfect for layering.
In love.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Face Wash is perfect for me.
Along with Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash.
I've been using Neutrogena for washing my face for years now, and love it.

Purses (and wallets).
Anyone that knows me can tell you I'm obsessive when it comes to purses and wallets.
Holy cow. I love them.
My newest one looks similar to this one, but is a grayish/brown zebra print.
Love it.

Dove Heat Defense Mist.
This stuff protects my hair while I blow dry and straighten, and it doesn't weigh your hair down (and make it greasy) like other heat protector products.

Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky Shampoo and Conditioner.
I struggle with having a dry scalp, especially in the winter, and this helps so much!
Plus, it smells good and makes my hair silky smooth! :)

Nollie perfume.
I've been using this since I was 14, and I absolutely love it.
Bath and Body Works Wild Honeysuckle lotion.
Leaves me feeling soft and smooth, and smelling good!

Olay Complete Face Lotion.
Works wonders.

Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara.
I switched around mascaras for a while until I found this one. I love it.

American Eagle jeans.
They fit the way jeans should fit.
End of story.

Books.
(Need I say more?)

Victoria's Secret eye shadow and lip gloss.

My Wedding Ring.
(My fingers look super fat?...)
But my ring is perfect, and I love it so much.

My Husband.
He's the best, and I'm so lucky!
