2/24

This week has been a weird one.
Since Monday was a holiday, and Tuesday was a Monday schedule... I've been confused as what day it is!

Sunday night we had dinner at my mom's, and took Charity home with us. We watched The Princess and the Frog, and had ourselves a sleepover. Monday we watched some Scooby Doo, and went to Pirate Island for lunch. Chari wasn't so sure about the pirate-y part of Pirate Island, but she had  fun playing the arcade games and eating the food.
The rest of the week has been regular with school and work.

Kyle and I have been watching HGTV like crazy
My First Place, Property Virgins, House Hunters, etc.
I'm almost getting house hungry, haha.
I know what I will be wanting when we are in the market to buy a house (in a long while).
Open floor plan, granite counter tops, dual sinks in the master bathroom, walk-in closet...
Can't wait :)
I think the thing that is going to sell me on a house is the master bath.

Anyway.

Today is the lovely Ginger Alice Budd's birthday!
I just love her.
Gin is on the right. I don't have any of just the two of us - me, Gin and Sarah are
always together, haha.

So, happy birthday, Gin!
I hope it was a good one, and I'm excited to celebrate tomorrow!

Cheese

Every day I'm remind how amazingly blessed and lucky I am to have married such a great guy.
Seriously, I love him so much.
He's perfect for me, and loves me so much, it's unreal.
He's so amazing, and patient, and wonderful.
He's so funny. He makes me laugh every day, and I love it.
Plus, he's real cute, too.

I just wanted to take a moment and tell the world that.
Love you, babe.
Forever :)

On Valentine's Day

We had a fun Valentine's Day - our first one married!
But before I get into all that fun stuff, let me catch you up on our weekend.

Friday was uneventful, Kyle worked, and I napped and read.
Saturday, Kyle worked the early shift, and I worked on homework.
Kyle came home, and we watched the BYU game.
Then, it was off to Mason's baby blessing!
(Mason is Kyle's cousin Ashley's new little guy, he's so cute!)
We visited with family, and then it was off to Bud and Cami's reception.
You might remember that we attended their sealing last month.
They had to postpone their reception, but it was a fun event!
We love Bud and Cami, and are so happy for them!
We were also able to catch up with some of our friends, Nate, Ryan, Reed, and chat with Shauna and Roger and play with their cute little guy, Corbyn!
And on Sunday we went up to Nate and Mel's for dinner, and played with the kiddos.

Which brings us to Valentine's.
We didn't even get to see each other until 6:15 pm.
Kyle had to work early, and I had class and work.
We exchanged cards, and got Chili's to go, yum!
(Molten Chocolate Cake, I love you!)
We delivered a few valentine's, and then watched The Wedding Planner, which is the movie we watched right before we exchanged "I love you's" for the first time.
Aw.

I can't believe that it was our second Valentine's together!
(Technically it was our third, if you count V-Day 2009 when I heart attacked his apartment door, and made him heart shaped pancakes for breakfast. We were bff, and not even dating! Although secretly... I think we did love each other already :) )

I love you, Kyle!
Thanks for being my Valentine!

Things On My Mind

* I have a couple of papers I should be writing, and a test to study for, and... well, the homework just never ends, does it? And even though I have no plans, I have no desire to do any homework on a Friday night. None.

* I'm missing the summer of 2008. You know, when I worked 40-50 hours a week at Seven Peaks? And I made the best work friends EVER. And we partied all the time, and had so much fun, and did all sorts of crazy things? Seriously, best summer ever. Oh, I loved it. Britt, Tyler, Kayla, Aubs, Malae, Joe, Jason, Trevon (well, Trevon was summer of 2009), Jeremy, Pete, Becca, etc. etc. etc. I love you guys.

* I've also been thinking about my senior year of high school, starting in summer of 2006, and ending with summer of 2007. That was one of the best years ever. There was so much drama, and ridiculousness, but so much fun, and I had the most awesome senior year.

* Ayisha and I partied it up last night, and had so much fun. We visited Dani, too. I seriously could not ask for better best friends. I have a lot of best friends, but Dani and Ayisha have been there for me the longest, and w're just as tight as ever. Oh my. Love you both, so much.

* Lastly, I want to go to dance party.

(Apparently this was my 200th post, who knew?)

2 Things...

1) This is hilarious and is spreading like wild fire, and I love it.

2) Jerry Sloan is no longer the head coach of the Utah Jazz. I am in shock (so is Kyle). We watched the whole press conference. I feel similar to how I did when President Hinckley died.
Well, almost.

Hey, world!

We're still alive here at the Hanson household.
Lots of school and work has been happening.

Last weekend I got to hang out with my BFF Ayisha.
Love her.
We went to Brian's reception, which was hilarious and fun.

I also went to a work party.
My BFF boss left us for a better position.
Basically we're all best friends in my department at work. And the party was so much fun! We chatted and played "Curses" and ate and just partied it up!

Oh, so, that party was on Saturday night, and Stephanie planned out.
However, we planned a surprise party for her during work on Friday, which was also fun.
We planned a Hawaiian Luau theme, since Stephanie served her mission in Hawaii.
We'll miss you, Steph.
(When I get back to my home computer I'll post a picture from the party.)

What else?
We had a fun Super Bowl Sunday with Alan and lots of goodies.
This weekend Kyle's cousin's baby Mason will be blessed, and we'll also go to Bud's reception.
And I'll have a girls night, and then it'll be Valentine's Day and we'll celebrate being in love.

Also, yesterday was my Dad's birthday - so Happy Birthday, Dad!

Everybody Loves Britt, Especially Me

First off, Thanks to Katie for writing nice things about my wife on your blog! You made her feel great. I thought I'd write a few nice things of my own cause I happen to think she is pretty special. Besides it is the month of love so why not write a blog post all about how great she is?

I could just say she is like Jesus and be done with it but I'll be more specific. She is very positive. She never complains. One of my pet peeves is when people complain so one of the reasons I love Britt so much is because she doesn't. She hasn't had the easiest life but you would never guess it.

Britt might not be the most outgoing person but she sure does have a lot of friends (none of you except my Mom are reading this because of me). She loves to talk to everyone and is interested in all of the things her friends do no matter how long it has been since she last talked to them. I wish I could be more like that. I don't think there is anyone who knows her that doesn't love her. She is just too nice to not like. Everywhere we go she has a friend or knows someone, and I mean EVERYWHERE.

She is happy just reading a book or just being with me. We don't have to do extravagant things to have fun together. We can just watch sports or read blogs. One of us likes the former a lot more and one likes the latter a lot more, but sometimes we do them together! When I do take her out to do different things she is always very appreciative. She makes me feel like its ok that I have a degree and still don't make us any money. She does not act entitled. She is a good listener and she thinks more about others than she does about herself. She worries a lot about her family and friends and she loves them a lot.

Britt doesn't take too long to get ready. Most of the time she is waiting on me. Also she looks great without makeup (just thought I'd throw that in there cause its true). Even though she spends lots of time in class and at work she still plans great meals and makes me yummy food. I cook sometimes too but mostly because I like to.

Also she has an amazing smile. I think she looks like an angel (fine you're right, I don't know what angels look like but I can imagine!) when she smiles. She loves to have fun and she always makes me happy when I am stressed out or not feeling good (like right now, I hate colds and winter!!). I love that she has a great sense of humor and likes the same movies as me. Anchorman anyone?

She always makes me feel good about myself even when she probably shouldn't. She never makes me feel guilty about being at work a lot on nights and weekends. She doesn't tell me I'm a crappy husband even when I am. I do dumb things a lot but she always tells me I'm smart regardless and makes me feel like I'm doing a good job.

I can think of a lot of other reasons I love her, but since many of those are only reasons for me to love her I'll spare you. Don't worry though I tell her all the time.

Britt you're beautiful and you're the very bestest sweetheart! Thanks for loving me!

PS Go Cougars. Just had to throw that in there.

Today in a Nutshell

Up at 7:30.
In-class quiz at 8.
Three more classes.

Came home.
Made and ate a delicious dinner of sweet and sour chicken, and fried rice.

Spent an amazing two hours volunteering with my good friend Hillary at a nursing/rehabilitation home.
(I only need to do four hours for my class, but let's just say I already love them there, and I will be volunteering at least one hour every week until we move.)

Came back home to my sick hubs, and watched Easy A with him.
SO funny.

And now, it's bedtime.
